Langley meets tech campaign

I developed and implemented a marketing campaign for Langley Main Street Association, a local non-profit that aims to revitalize and beautify the Langley, Washington downtown.

Quick info

Timeline: May 2017 to September 2017

Problem statement

Gigabit internet was being installed in the Langley downtown that would significantly increase the internet speed. Langley Main Street wanted to raise awareness about the gigabit internet. Additionally, Langley Main Street wanted to increase the number of younger people and families moving to Langley.

Design question

Implement a marketing campaign, using blog posts and social media, to promote Langley’s gigabit internet, and attract younger, tech workers to live and work in Langley.

Process

Phase 1

I set up a blog in Wordpress. Next, I developed a style guide that included brand, voice, and content guidelines to ensure the content was consistent across different channels.

Phase 2

I wrote blog posts and created video stories in Adobe Premiere about young people who worked in Langley and used technology in their jobs and businesses. The gigabit internet was highlighted in these blog posts.

Phase 3

The blog posts were promoted on Facebook to surrounding communities and urban areas. Thousands of people from around the world accessed the blog posts.

I analyzed the social media metrics to determine how the content was performing and how we could make future improvements to reach young social media users.
